Israel Lobby
The Israel Lobby is the informal coalition of organizations, donors, and advocacy groups, both Jewish and Christian, that work to align US foreign policy with Israeli government interests. It includes formal lobbying organizations like AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and religious networks like Christians United for Israel, collectively making it one of the most influential foreign-policy lobbying forces in Washington.
The term became prominent after the 2007 book The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy by political scientists John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, who argued that the lobby's influence had pushed the US into foreign policy positions, particularly the 2003 Iraq War, that served Israel's interests but harmed America's.
